BrickLink sellers banned from buying at LEGO.com

BrickLink sellers beware: LEGO is banning those who buy items at LEGO.com and then go on to resell on the online marketplace from buying there again.

A Brickset Forum user posted a screenshot of an email he received from LEGO Customer Services earlier today which states:

Our database team [...] has informed me that you have a store on BrickLink selling, or have sold previously, items that could only have been obtained through LEGO directly.

This ban on your account is non-reviewable.

He says that he closed his BrickLink store 8 months ago. It's not an isolated incident: Someone posted a similar message on Reddit earlier today, too.

As Yellowcastle stated in the forum, this is a worrying development. "LEGO buys Bricklink. LEGO then uses both databases to identify similar accounts across both platforms and then begins to ban folks based on what they’ve sold on Bricklink if they can tie it to a similar purchase from LEGO.com. Very Orwellian. Very concerning."
